-Prolouge-
When he was 6 years old, Yoshiri Green's life was so happy and carefree. The streets of Shy-Guy Square were bustling with life - children playing, markets thriving, and everyone having a good time. Unbeknownst to the citizens of Goombaheim Village, this peace would come to an end in the years to come. So would the village.... But Yoshiri saw these things... He saw the village in flames... the fearful denizens of Gommbaheim running for their lives... the men being burned alive... the women and their dying screams... the children crying in vain for their slaughtered mothers to help them out of their burning homes.... Every night, he would have this recurring nightmare... and every time, it would end with two dark figures standing over the town's ruins... and then... he would wake up. He would tell his mother, Yoshinda, about the dreams, only to get the same response - "Yoshiri, it was just a bad dream, nothing like that will ever happen to us. Now good night, Yoshiri."
If only Yoshiri knew how right he was...

Chapter 1 -The End in Sight-
"Waah!!" Yoshiri startledly said as he awoke at 4 o'clock in the morning in his dorm... It was that dream again - the one about Goombaheim's impending destruction. However, it seemed to be all too real this time... as if he was witnessing the chaos unfold firsthand...... Additionally, the shape of the two dark figures who ominously loomed over the ruined village was begining to become clear. One of them seemed all too familiar, but Yoshiri couldn't be sure of either of their identities... The walls of Yoshiri's dorm at Starr University were littered with multitudes of sketches of Goombaheim, as he remembered it in the joy-filled childhood years he spent there. Scattered along his work desk next to his bed in the far corner were more sketches of Goombaheim, spotted with the Pokemon drawings he doodled in his free time during his Pokemon Studies classes. His laptop, which was sitting on the small fridge on the other side of the work desk, still had his e-mail browser filling the screen, with a few unread messages from Yoshinda remaining as their envelope icons continued to flash, waiting to be liberated from the inbox. Yoshiri was still half asleep an hour later when he decided to get ready for the day. As for Yoshiri, he was pretty much above-average-looking, and he had the mind to match. His life at Starr was relatively normal - he had some popularity to his name, did alright in class, had some friends, and was in a club or two. However, Yoshiri's friends didn't know about the dreams... He didn't think he could tell them...
The first bell of the day rang, prompting the clusters of students that polka-dotted the hall to scatter to their first classes. From there, Yoshiri's first few classes went by like they always do, as did the lunch that followed. However, as lunch wound down to an end, Yoshiri started to get this weird feeling... as if... a disaster was coming...... Yoshiri didn't think much of it at the time, so he decided to get to his last class - Pokemon Studies - so he could get the day over with. When he got inside, nobody else was there, except Luna, the female Alakazam that taught the class. In reality, this was Luna's planning period and Yoshiri's free period, so nobody came in when the late bell for the day's last period rang.
"You seem troubled, Yoshiri. Care to talk about it?" This was the first thing that Luna said right after the late bell rang. Luna had taken a liking to Yoshiri since he first came to Starr University. She is a very observant Pokemon, which has made her a very sociable and agreeable being. She was Yoshiri's mentor, as well as the only one he trusted with his... secret. Luna could tell that Yoshiri was nervous and had something on his mind. "It's the dreams again... they're feeling more and more like reality with each passing night. I don't know what it means, Luna, but I get this feeling that something's coming soon..." Luna seemed to have a concerned look on her face upon hearing this. "How much like reality are these dreams of yours?" "Well...I actually felt like I was walking through my home town, seeing them murdered, experiencing their pain... But the dream always ended with those two dark figures surveying the chaos from the overlooking cliff. Then I wake up... " When Yoshiri looked over to Luna, she was drawing some weird symbols on the board. "Were you even listening?!?" As if on cue, a portion of the floor sank, forming into a staircase. Luna simply said, "Follow me."
After they descended the the stairwell, Yoshiri was amazed by what he saw in the next room. Inside this stone chamber underneath Luna's classroom, there was a multitude of tablets with what looked like hieroglyphs scrawled all over them on glass-encased pedestals on either side of them as they entered. Yoshiri saw that the walls were crowded with ancient carvings of what looked like Legendary Pokemon, along with their names - Lugia, Ho-oh, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Darkrai... Darkrai... As Yoshiri studied Darkrai's carving, Yoshiri's head began to hurt. He put his hands on his temples in response to the sharp pain he suddenly felt as Darkrai's image was engraved into his mind, then it became crystal clear... "Yoshiri?" Luna turned around to see Yoshiri on the floor, apparently comatose, writhing in pain. Yoshiri couldn't respond to Luna's voice - he was having the dream again, except this time, when it played through, everything was clearer and more graphic. The women's screams were louder... The children's desperately crying tears weighing down Yoshiri's soul, the impaled denizens of Goombaheim pinned to the walls with spears, arrows, and swords... and when the dark figures came to view, Darkrai's identity was revealed next to the all-too-familiar silhouette. But the dream didn't end there. In the dream, he ran to his mother's house only to find he was too late. His mother's throat had been slit, and she had been stabbed in the heart with a distinctive Spiny-Shell-hilted sword that remained lodged in her chest. Wait... I remember that sword... Just then, the entire dream seemed to very quickly rewind before Yoshiri's eyes, and then...

Chapter 2 -Absol's Suffering-
"-iri... -oshi-..... Yosh-...... ...-eak to-....Yoshi-...." Yoshiri could hear a voice... It seemed to be calling out for him, but he couldn't respond... he tried to walk toward the voice... Then he saw his mother... "Mom? Mom, is that really you?" Yoshiri called to his mother, but when he did, the figure of Yoshinda began to grow more and more distant... "No... Mom, wait up... Mom!" Yoshiri started to run after his mother, but to no avail - he was losing her... "Mom, please, wait! Please come back!! Mom!!!" After a few seconds of him running after her, she stopped, but was fading away. "Nooo!!!!!!! Please, come back!!! Don't leave," he tearfully cried.
Yoshiri gasped as he woke from his coma with a tearful start... "Mom!!!" Yoshiri cried as he looked around in vain for his mother; the only other being in the chamber was Luna, who had Yoshiri in her arms, trying to wake him for a couple hours now. "Luna... she's dead..... she died right in front of me.... I wasn't able to save her...." He burst into tears, crying on Luna's shoulder. "Yoshiri...." Luna welcomed the hug, trying to comfort the mourning Yoshi who was crying on her shoulder. "It's not your fault, Yoshiri." Luna seemed to be concerned all of a sudden. "However, your dream worries me. I saw the whole thing while I was trying to wake you. If Darkrai's involved, then...." Luna seemed to be distraught by the thought of Darkrai... a first for Luna, who was always so calm and collected. She directed Yoshiri's eyes toward a drawing of an Absol. "You know what this is, right?" She asked Yoshiri. "That's Absol, isn't it?" "Yes. The Oracle of Catastrophe. Its kind comes to warn my kind of impending disasters. However, to humans, they are seen as harbingers of doom - the causes of the very disasters they come to warn them of. Hence, the humans refer to Absol as the Disaster Pokemon." "Why do I get the feeling that this has something to do with me?" "Hmm. You catch on quick, don't you? Yes, this does have something to do you; or more specifically, these dreams you've been having. I think you may have a special power known as Absol's Suffering." "Absol's... Suffering?" "Yes. It allows you to see the future; or the pain and chaos that future has in store. Some see it as a gift, while others think it to be a curse. But either way, if those dreams are as real as they seemed, and Darkrai is involved, then your home village won't be around for long." "I'm going."
