Which one did you get? (If you didn't get both)
I bought FireRed version, it's pretty obvious which one I would go with. I honestly like Charizard more than Venasaur! xD;; *judges games by their cover, apparently* Plus, of course you catch different Pokemon in each game, I like FireRed's obtainable Pokemon better.

I got LeafGreen, simply because I couldn't find FireRed in the store at the time and I really wanted the game. xD

I have both and I am not even bothering to post my teams because I have about 50 alternating teams on those at the moment

I have both. I don't really like the red version because it was all in one color. :/ I liked the leaf green because it showed color and also I didn't even wanted to be a boy xD But It's still the same though.
